Men or Myth

Men or Myth is a New York City-area up-and-coming eclectic alternative/pop/rock band, combining the best of classic styles with today's touch. 

The band was formed in 2013 as a spin-off of the original band Blue Sour.  In early 2012, lead singer Mike Knuff, a veteran of the NYC area cover music scene, joined forces with Juan Ignacio Garcia (former lead guitarist) and his original band, Blue Sour.  Over the course of the ensuing year, in order to build their following the group strayed from their original roots and began to make a name for themselves playing cover music at popular bars, clubs, and events.  The band continued to solidify their place in the NYC cover music scene over the years with the help of Paulie Schmidt on bass and backing vocals, John Wells on lead guitar and vocals, Andrew Harts, on drums, and Alan Hurtado on the keys. 

Men or Myth performs regularly at the most popular cover music venues in NYC, including The Red Lion in the Village, Session 73 in the Upper East Side, and Prohibition in the Upper West Side.  As one of the region's premier event bands, they have played to crowds of hundreds at events such as the CBSBB October Ball at the New York Public Library, St. Jude's Gold Gala at the Bowery hotel, and the Hudson River Community Sailing Dark N' Stormy event at The Frying Pan.  The band has made a name for themselves in the NY, NJ and CT wedding and country club circuits, performing at several events in The Hamptons, Jersey Shore, and Southern CT areas.  The band also plays private parties and corporate events with varying themes and arrangements such as country music, decade-specific music or even live-band karaoke!  They are also in the process of producing new original music, bridging several genres in style.  Their new material will be released to the public as it is completed.  The latest original, the wedding song "I Do", was written by Mike Knuff as a gift for his wife and was first performed in 2016 at their wedding.  Stay tuned and keep your eyes out for the latest shows and original music, which will be publicized on all of their social media!
